Why Choose Aligned

Why Is Aligned Radiology Considered a Top Teleradiology Employer?

How does our physician-owned model benefit you?

While the big teleradiology companies got bought by private equity, we went the other direction. Aligned Radiology is 100% privately owned — no PE, no VC, no corporate overlords. Our founders built this company because they believe radiologists deserve a real stake in the value they create, not just a paycheck.

Cortex PACS

Your Most Important Tool, Designed by a Radiologist

One of Aligned's founders is the physician behind Cortex PACS — a next-generation PACS system built from the ground up by a practicing radiologist who was tired of fighting clunky, legacy systems. Cortex isn't an off-the-shelf product bolted onto a worklist. It's purpose-built for teleradiology workflows and radiologist satisfaction.

AI-Powered Worklist Management

Cases are automatically assigned based on subspecialty skills, eliminating cherry-picking and ensuring the right radiologist reads the right case.

Built to Reduce Burnout

The interface is designed to minimize clicks, reduce cognitive load, and let you focus on reading — not fighting software.

Real-Time TAT Alerts

Automated alerts when turnaround times approach limits, keeping you and your team on track without micromanagement.

Subspecialty Auto-Routing

Intelligent case routing matches study types to radiologist credentials and preferences automatically.

Seamless Teleradiology Integration

Cloud-native architecture with enterprise-grade security. Access your worklist from anywhere with zero compromise on speed.

Clinical Leadership & Stability

Meet the Physicians Leading Aligned

Because the people making decisions are not private equity partners — they are practicing physicians with Harvard, MGH, and UPenn credentials who have spent decades building careers in the exact field they are now leading. Clinical authority flows from the top of this organization into every policy, every technology choice, and every compensation decision.

How does our physician-owned model benefit you? When your CMO is a 30-year neuroradiologist and your CTO personally built the PACS you read on, every policy is designed around the clinical experience — not around investor returns. Medical decisions stay in the reading room, not the boardroom.

The Bigger Picture

Why Physician Leadership Matters

The teleradiology landscape has undergone a fundamental shift toward rapid market consolidation. Across the industry, the rise of large, private equity-backed platforms has introduced significant operational challenges that prioritize financial engineering over clinical excellence. When scale is driven primarily by cost compression and volume pressure, the essential link between physician and patient is strained. We are seeing a market where decisions are increasingly made in boardrooms rather than reading rooms—often resulting in a measurable impact on the quality of care and professional satisfaction for the radiologists themselves.

Aligned exists as an alternative. We're privately held by physicians and operators who believe the people reading the cases should have a direct stake in the business. No quarterly earnings calls. No pressure to strip costs to hit IRR targets. Just a sustainable, radiologist-first practice built for the long term.

That's what we mean by "skin in the game" — not a vague promise years away, but a real stake in the value you create, starting your first month.

FAQ

Common Questions

No. Aligned Radiology Services is 100% privately owned by physicians and operators. We have no private equity investors, no venture capital backing, and no corporate parent. Decisions are made by people who read cases, not board members chasing financial returns. This is intentional — and it shapes everything about how we operate.

We use Cortex PACS, a next-generation imaging and workflow system designed from the ground up by one of our founders — a practicing, board-certified radiologist. Cortex features AI-powered worklist management, subspecialty auto-routing, real-time TAT alerts, and a streamlined interface specifically built to reduce radiologist burnout. It is not an off-the-shelf product; it was built to solve the exact frustrations radiologists face every day.

We offer premium per-click compensation, with an additional 10% bonus for all cases read after 2:00 AM. Radiologists reading consistent volume also receive concierge navigation to institutional-scale group health and disability portals. We do not publish specific rates here, but we encourage you to reach out.

We offer evening (5pm–1am), overnight (11pm–7am), and swing (8pm–4am) shifts. The minimum commitment is 7 on / 21 off, giving you substantial time off built into the structure. Radiologists who want to pick up additional shifts are welcome to do so. All work is 100% remote.

We provide occurrence-based medical malpractice coverage to all radiologists working with Aligned. Tail coverage is automatic and fully covered — you will never have an out-of-pocket tail expense. This is a meaningful financial protection that many groups do not provide.

Typically just 1–2 hospitals. We keep credentialing requirements minimal to get you reading quickly. Our team handles the credentialing process and can also assist with obtaining state medical licenses if needed. We want to remove friction, not create it.

Standard ED and STAT inpatient studies — the core of real teleradiology. We maintain an excellent case mix with only approximately 16% plain films, meaning the vast majority of your work will involve advanced imaging (CT, MRI, etc.) that fully engages your diagnostic training. No padding the volume with low-value studies.

We know changing practice settings can feel like a big step. We provide a transition roadmap, concierge support with credentialing and state licensing, and help getting your administrative setup in place so you can start reading quickly. We will walk you through the specifics of the arrangement when we talk.

Unlike PE-backed groups that promise something years down the road, often as a retention tool with no real certainty, Aligned's incentive program starts in your first month. Awards are earned monthly based on your own production and let you share in the growth in value of the enterprise you help build. You are not a line item on a corporate P&L. Incentive awards are governed by the applicable plan documents, which control over any summary on this page.
